Community Quilts

The Auckland Patchworkers & Quilters Guild organises the making and distribution of quilts to worthy organisations in the community.

We receive donations of fabrics, blocks, quilts tops etc, and encourage members to do whichever part of the process they enjoy most. Some make tops, some quilt them, some bind them and some donate fabrics etc.

We usually manage to raise enough money to buy the rolls of batting, or else the Guild sponsors this.
It is very rewarding on Guild days when we show the beautiful quilts and see the smiles on the faces of the recipients.

Quilts have so far been donated to the following:

October 2008 ............... Ronald McDonald House
Monte Cecelia Housing Trust
30 quilts
35 quilts
November 2008 ............ Pillars 36 quilts
December 2009 ........... South Auckland Health Foundation 37 quilts
May 2010 ........... Bethany / Salvation Army 40 quilts
